Can you imagine a peaceful death?
Diaspora Psychedelic Society (DPS) has created a psilocybin retreat for people who want to embrace their death and dying peacefully and without fear. Whether faced with a life threatening illness or other crisis, too many of us let fear and anxiety consume and dictate our final days. We offer the first retreat of its kind that deals with the these issues head on by using the power of sacred medicines to open an individual to the beauty and joy of one's last journey.
"We're all just walking each other home." -Ram Dass
Psilocybin has been used in ceremony for thousands of years to heal, to bring community together and to tap collective wisdom. In facing one's death, it is only fitting that this ancient, sacred medicine be used in a loving, supportive environment for transformative healing.
For those in the modern western world, knowing that the science has proven what medicine men and women have long known provides reassurance. Research at institutions such as Johns Hopkins, New York University and the University of California Los Angeles have consistently shown that psilocybin in conjunction with psychotherapy significantly reduces depression and anxiety as well as bringing about increased emotional well-being and a sense of peace and acceptance to the thought of dying.
